Has anyone ever run into problems with insufficient alternator output current? I'm still waiting for my Haynes repair manual to figure out how to most easily get to my alternator to read the title plate for electrical ratings.
The reason I ask about this is because I want to be cautious to avoid getting too close to the max current draw for my alternator when adding to the system to avoid problems with undercharging the engine battery. Really, this probably won't be a major concern unless I decide to add an aftermarket sound system later on down the road--not very likely.
Anyway, I am just curious... If you've had problems, did you buy a higher-output alternator or did you rewire the system to balance the loads appropriately? _________________ Better to be sick in the head than sane in the city. |

I have a 105 amp as stock on my Astro and have never had any problems needing more power. _________________ David Hair
